Guess what tomorrow is?

I'll just tell you:  NOVEMBER 1ST!!

Some of you might think I'm crazy already and some of you might not know the significance of November 1st.  So again I'll illustrate:

So, being that tomorrow is the start of the 50k word mad dash, I probably won't be posting all to frequently (not that I'm posting frequently now).  What I mean is, I probably will only get two books read in my down time, so I won't have much to review.

I will probably keep in touch with excerpts from what I'm writing, and Teaser Tuesdays and what not just full reviews will be hard. ^_^

Blog Goods

I had an idea to make a tee shirt for the blog though I’m not sure for what. At first I was thinking to wrap giveaways in when they ship as a cool freebie, but then I thought maybe I should put a donate button up to help keep it running and give these away with every donation of 15$ or more. So really, it’s still up in the air what I’m actually going to do with these if I can find a screen printer to print them reasonably anyway. >_< (I wonder if I could do this with a couple of iron ons… *ponders* might have to attempt that.)

p.s Obviously the copyrighted books in the trees would have to be blanked out minus the ones I have permission to use. In which they’ll be featured on the back of the shirt as well, as seen in the design.

I also had ideas for bookmarks,  unique blog related jewelry, etc... Just not sure what to do anymore.

What are your thoughts?

Sneek Peak (2)

It's no secret that I'm writing a novel. I've spent so much time writing though, that I've only been posting reviews for authors/publishers and books that really stick out at me.  I am still reading anything I can get my hands on though. (I've decided to hold contests for my favorite series in July. Keep an eye out for that news.)

In the meantime here's a little snippet of what I'm writing as I'm writing it. A teaser if you will. I'll probably do this every Sunday as that's my word count deadline too. ^_^ (For the curious this weeks' word count goal was 50K.  I'm over by 500 words.)

The story is called Of Gaea and here is today's snippet:

 

He looked thoughtful a moment.  “Perhaps.  You want me to walk you home?  It’s getting dark."

“We live in a less than two thousand person community.  Do you really think someone is going to come out of the dark with a knife and stick me in a few hundred feet?”  I was joking but his face was not amused. 

“I’ll walk you home.”  He took the bow from me and stepped aside so I could get by.  “It’s getting late.  We best be off.”

From Chapter two.  ^_^  What do you think?

Sneek Peak

Writing, Writing

So I'm writing a novel. Ha. Name me a dedicated book lover that doesn't dream of doing so. Anyway, I thought for the fun of it, to post like a back of the book blurb or the in the inside of the book jacket. ^_^ It's a work in progress, I'm partial to comments and constructive criticism. 

Her teachers were the Archangels.  Her guards the seraphim.  She wanted nothing more than to be normal. To go to school with other kids, to make friends, to LIVE, but every year she was denied. Her home was a cage. She did nothing without someone. Every six months they moved. Every six months the seraphim grew more agitated. Whatever was chasing them was getting closer with each move.

What they didn’t tell her...

The archangels taught so she could protect herself if the seraphim failed. The seraphim guarded against a darkness that she’d never known... her father. She held something he wanted. Something it took the Choir of Seraphim a thousand years to safely transfer from one to the other. With each passing year it grew more hers then his. To keep it, she had to survive until her eighteenth birthday. Once she reached majority it was hers forever. This was the final year and he’s finally found her. 

Wow that's a lot of words looking at it this way. Hm... wonder if I should cut it down...
